Alright so let's get down to this week's ramblings. The topic of which (if you missed the title) is the new Spiderman movie.
So what do I think of the movie? Well to put it straight.............I FACKING LOVED IT. I was decently skeptical going in as Spiderman isn't one of my favorite super heroes to say the least, but I do like him on some occasions. The movies predecessors left me the rubbed the wrong way by the end of the third, while the first and second held their own decently. And going into this one I thought that it couldn't possibly be better with what appeared to me as a more darker Nolanesque take on the franchise as presented to me in the trailers. While the movie did have a good amount of dark moments, it balanced it out by perfectly pulling off the witty and campy banter that Spiderman is known for. Also keeping the love interest as Gwen Stacy is going to work perfectly going into a more than likely sequel with how the movie ended (before and kind of after credit if you know your Spiderman mythos). Along with Gwen Stacy the rest of the supporting characters were great, especially Uncle Ben and Aunt May. The inclusion of Captain Stacy also helped give the movie a powerfull ending and foreshadow to the more than likely sequel as I mentioned above. Rhys Ifans made a great Lizard for this new series and I would like to see him somehow come back in a future film to keep the character going. And of course Andrew Garfield put Toby Maguire to shame as Spiderman. I was captivated in his performance in and out of suit. So if you couldn't tell this movie is great and I really recommend that you go and see it instead of skipping it like it seems so much of the internet has chosen to do from different posts that I've seen.
Well that's it for this post guys, if I don't finish it sooner then next week expect a post on Magic: The Gathering. I have enough stuff for it I'm just debating getting a 2013 Fat Pack before I do it, but more then likely I wont get a fat pack for awhile.
Thanks for reading guys,
Zack
